Other Goose: Recycled Rhymes For Our Times
Come celebrate the launch of the first book by widely celebrated Toronto artist and poster designer Barbara Klunder, Other Goose: Recycled Rhymes For Our Times (House of Anansi). Groove to DJ Billy Bryans and Kobo Town, funky dance music from Canada's calypso reggae rebels.
Barbara Klunder was born in Toronto in 1948 and grew up in an artistic household, which was her basic education, and attended Ontario College of Art 1965-66.
She started doing illustration at the age of 17 (for the Globe and Mail) and continued as a freelance illustrator/designer until recently, winning many awards over the years and designing two fonts. Gradually her interests grew into making conceptual pieces that had 'commentary' built into them. Barbara has lived on Toronto Island for the past 20 years, but now finds herself in downtown Toronto.
